Max finally went back to school this week, and he seemed to be doing fairly well. He finished one medicine and has just a few more days on the other.
But when I was bathing him last night, I noticed his breathing seemed more labored than usual. And sure enough, he spiked a fever a few hours later and it only got worse. Tylenol brought it down temporarily, but basically he stayed between 104 and 105 all night. Hmm....
Fortunately Mickey Mouse videos brought us some entertainment in all hours of the night. (Despite being sick, he is still so darn cute...pink and all.)
Hopefully we can get some answers today. I'm not overly worried, but just hoping we can get some healthy days and actual sleep soon. :)
UPDATE: Max continued to worsen throughout the day. His doctors are thinking he probably needs admitted, but I am *hoping* to keep him at home. They agreed since I was able to arrange nursing for the night. The major concern is that he is not retaining fluids so he needs an IV. One doctor was particularly concerned about the possibility of appendicitis. Most likely, it s a pretty nasty GI bug and we can conquer it here at home with a slow tube drip of pedialyte. Keeping my fingers crossed that he feels better overnight...but they are prepared for him at the hospital too.
