another funny lil' moment at Mickey D's

The other day Eliz and I treated the boys to McDonalds. Max doesn't eat much of the food or play on the equipment, but he loves the environment...the noise, the kiddos, the funny drawings on the walls. Loves it all.

As we were leaving, Max dropped his "Ekmo" next to a table with a nice elderly couple. The man picks it up for us and then asks "and how old is this guy?" I proudly reply "three and half." With confusion all over his face, he then gently inquires "years?"

Yep, the infamous disbelief that this lil' guy who is not walking or talking is actually three years old. It totally dumbfounds people. Sometimes I will explain about his challenges, other times I simply let it go.

But this is the first time someone asked "years?"

(Walking to the car I had a good chuckle thinking I should have replied,"nope, 3 1/2 months...isn't he remarkable?") hee hee :)

Oh, Amy, I empathize and appreciate your humor, too! I love it when people guess how old Vivian is:
"How old is she? Six months?"
Um, no. Try 16 months. I'm sure these comments will only increase as Miss Viv gets older...

But I always smile to myself because we mommies know the incredible strength, resilience and spunk that comes in tiny packages!
