mighty max goes to school!

Here we go Mommy!

I'll be just fine, I know I will Mommy. But can I have some quick snuggles first?

My mom is so proud of me...can you tell? :)

Hey Mom, check out the flags. Absolutely mesmerizing...

Check us out...walking down the hall to meet my classmates!

Let the games begin! They must know how much I love to build.

Mom, they have blocks too! COOL!

I wasn't very happy when they tried to tell me to put the blocks away. Fortunately, my speech therapist was right there with me to comfort me. And it was a perfect opportunity for Mom to show the best way to communicate with me about transitions, etc.

Our next activity was the playground. I was so excited to show off my skills on the slides!

I rode the bus home...no seriously, I did!

(Mom came to pick me up but I was already on the bus. We were waiting for a few weeks to try the bus, but there was a lil' mix-up. Mom then raced home to meet me in time!)

No worries though, because I DID GREAT! What an adventure!

What a truly amazing day...filled with many exciting milestones! Mom and I are beyond thrilled! Woo hoo!!! :)

So proud of you Max!! WOW! I agree: walking the halls, playing with blocks, slides, and riding the bus....WOW!!! You've come a long way!! And Amy, you too are amazing!!! Without your love, motivation, and encouragement to Max, he would not be where he is. He's so blessed to have you as his mom!!! I popped in on Mon but realized he started later. Bummer, I was really hoping to see the 2 of you on his first day!! Thanks for sharing the pics! I checked all day hoping they'd be on there soon!! {{{HUGS}}}}

I didn't think it was possible, but Max with a backpack is even cuter than regular Max! (And pouty Max is even cuter still!)

I absolutely LOVE that pouty face! I take it mommy made it through the day without any major meltdowns? :) What an exciting post. Thanks for sharing this big day with the rest of us!!!

I can only dream of how this huge milestone of a day must feel for you Amy, something you'd longed for for so long, beyond the feelings of letting go, yet longed for Max developmentally and in the most difficult of times, I just want to see my son go to school. Sorry for getting emotional, it's how I would feel of such a day. With love Cx

What a great first day Max. You look so grown up in your school clothes. And walking in too without your walker... I'm impressed! Ben too has trouble with the transitions. He throws a royal fit when he has to leave the playground and muscle room. Amy, how do you communicate transitions with Max. What we do doesn't seem to help.

Yay, Max!! Eva's so excited you'll be on her bus, too! Great box your mom decorated. ;)

MAX!!!!! I knew you and your mm would do great! I love seeing how you grow each day. You and your mom are truly seeking wisdom every day.... "Happy is the person who finds wisdom and gains understanding. For the profit of wisdom is better than silver and her wages are better than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. she offers you life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left. She will guide you down delightful paths; all her ways are satisfying. Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; happy are those who hold her tightly." Proverbs 3: 13-18. The road to wisdom is blessed with so many twists and turns, thank you for sharing yours with all of us!
