Finally he is at the point of at least getting in the bathtub without clinging onto me for dear life. (Seriously, we had some majorly traumatic evenings for awhile simply because I wanted to give him a quick rinse.) And this week he even seemed to enjoy it...a wee bit. He even signed "bath" a gazillion times. This is a good thing...because there were a few days his feet were getting a lil' stinky! (But I actually thought it was kind of cute!)
AND what goes along right with it is toothbrushing. He was hating it...I mean really really hating it. I had to pretty much restrain all limbs by sitting on him! (Sounds worse than it was...but it is actually what was required!) Now he is loving his toothbrush again and even wants to do it on his own. Awesome!
Who knows...maybe these are sensory issues. Maybe they are simply issues any ol' typical kiddo experiences. But I am just relieved that the frustrating stages do eventually turn positive!
How cute is this kid?!? :)

Amy,
These are typical of the age!! My younger son will be 3 in two weeks and for awhile HATED baths, so we tried showers - he LOVED it. Now sometimes he showers. Toothbrushing -same thing. A phase of hating it, but better now that we have a lightening mcqueen toothbrush!! Hugs to you!
How cute you ask - how cute? Well, to me, he is absolutely the cutest little boy I have ever known. He is growning in huge leaps and bounds!!! What a guy. We love you Maxwell, and mommy too.
Oh my gosh I love that 3rd pictures that is so cute!! LOL!
I hope you enjoy your bathes from now on Max.
Hugs,
Crystal and Eva

I've been thinking of you while down here in Disney..I hope that one day you and momma will be able to come to this park and see all there is..I pray that you will be here and have your pictures taken with the characters. They would eat you up with love for sure. It was so good to see your pictures on the rides yesterday..There are some great rides in fantasy land that I think you'd love. Start talkin' to momma about this.
I got Kennedy a special "Hello Kitty" toothbrush and encouraged her to play with it and start using it on her own which she does just fine now but it wasn't always this way. The dentist wanted us to use an electric brush to get her teeth better and I thought, "Yeah, right" but she did eventually get used to it.
Maybe some special new dollar store type bath toys in a bag (that he can't see through) and each time before bath, he gets to reach his hand in and pull out a new special surprise to take in the tub with him...
Picture number 3 is my fav by the way...love it!
Hey Cutie!
I like all of the new pics your mommy posted. You are so brave riding that spinning ride! WOW!
Baths can be crazy here too!
Love,
Shannon
I love the photo of Max with his hands under his chin - I wonder if he's thinking "Hey, this bath is actually kind of fun! Hmmmmm." So, so cute!
