Yay, Max is home and finally starting to feel better. :)
He remains on heavy antibiotics, steroids, breathing treatments, and oxygen BUT at least he is at home and recovering well. We didn't enjoy our hospital stay, that's for sure. I forgot how difficult it was to entertain and soothe a baby attached to ten wires and multiple machines. The three we use at home is plenty!
Maxwell is still quite lethargic, but this afternoon he had a few hours of playfulness and smiles. That was great to see! And he even used his walker a bit.
Unfortunately the timing of this illness was not very good...or perhaps Max planned it this way! :) His surgery was scheduled for next week and I called to give the surgeon a heads up that Max wasn't feeling well. And sure enough, he cancelled it immediately. This is the second cancellation due to illness, and they don't have another open slot for several more months. I begged and begged to try and fit us in and they said they are going to really try. Hopefully we can still do it later this month.
For now, Max and I are working to get him back to his silly, playful, active self!

sending prayers up that he recovers quickly and they can find an open slot for his surgery.
Soooo happy little Maxwell is finally feeling better! I'm sure you'll be chasing after him again soon.
Take care, Shelly and Luke
