really sick

On Saturday night of the conference, Max began vomiting quite violently and he was miserable the entire night. The next day he seemed to perk up a bit but then last night he was struck down again. And he definitely didn't perk up this morning. He feels absolutely miserable. I haven't seen him like this in forever.

I got a doctor's appointment right away and they were quite concerned. He has a fever, ear infection, VERY lethargic behavior, labored breathing, and horribly junky lungs.

Instead of putting him in the hospital on an IV, they gave him two shots of antibiotics and prescribed lots more antibiotics, prednisone (steriods) and more inhalers for home. They did a few nebulizer treatments in the office too to ensure he was ok to go home. The doctor wants to see him again first thing in the morning. (Thank goodness for nursing care and O2 at home...otherwise he definitely would have been going to the hospital.)

So much for Max being ready to face the world...those darn germs quickly jumped out and got him. Darnit! I was wondering how he would do being around so many other people...now we know. :( Hopefully the drugs kick in and he makes a quick turnaround.

On a much more serious front, please keep Mr. Caleb in your prayers. He is dealing with a septic infection and still is waiting for the thymus transplant.

Sweet little Max, I was so bummed to hear you got sick after the conference Saturday night. You looked so healthy and energetic too! It was so great to be able to finally meet you and your mommy there. You are such a speedy little guy with your walker and so smart and adorable too! I'll keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery from this nasty little bug. Hugs, from Shelly and Luke.

Oh Amy- I am so sorry - and in this as well Max reminds me so of Keith at the same age. Sometimes Scotty and I would let ourselves get run down while caring for Keith and we'd all get double injections of antibiotics and the same prescriptions and treatments all around.....You are in our thoughts and I lok forward to seeing you post him bouncing back to his always incredible charming self! YOU ARE AMAZING! You and Max are a beatiful team. Together you are indomitable - pure love and wholeness. - best, yuka
