one aversion conquered!

Like many of his special friends with CHARGE, Max has many sensory aversions. It is such an interesting, complex "extra" with this genetic disorder. I always tease that the acronym for this disorder should really be "SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS" instead because of all the many associated issues with CHARGE. :)

But anyway, we are slowly but surely conquering or at least managing some of these sensory issues...one itty bitty step at a time. It is funny how opinionated Max can be!

Max had a major problem with rocks. He wouldn't sit on them, stand on them or touch them...and he would get VERY upset if you even tried doing any of this with him.

Well check him out now...WOW! What a difference! This is so exciting. :)

So glad I am doing ok with the rocks...whew! This will be a fun place to play with my cars.

I am CRAWLING on the rocks...WOW!

I can even lay down and "swim" in the rocks!

Ok all done Mommy. UP, UP, UP!

Great job Maxwell! Rocks are great to play with but be careful that one doesn't get in your shoe.
Love you -

Way to go, Max! I'm sure as you discover how much fun (and trouble) you can get into, you'll start exploring more rocks, dirt, mud, etc. Brady loves to use his digger in the gravel.
And the pics from the beach with Grandma Mary... do they scream "scrapbook me!" or what?

Max, I can't believe how big you're getting! You're practically a moose! And look at all the progress you're making! Of course, I'm not surprised. I knew you had it in you!
