Mighty Max is sick again...and he is not a happy camper about it. So heartbreaking to see him sad! :(
The night before last, his sleep apnea was really acting up and his sats were dropping very low. That was concerning, but I wanted to see what happened the next night to see if this was new trend. (The pulmonary team and I have discussed about using CPAP on him at nights if the apnea continues or worsens.)
Well he never did "sleep" last night anyway, because he was so miserable. He was in so much pain and we were both up all night. (So excited to have a nurse tonight after two rough nights...whew!)
I almost took him to the ER last night because I was worried there was something seriously wrong. This virus came on so quickly and strongly. I got him in to the doctor's today and they were quite concerned..."high risk for pneumonia." So he is once again on antibiotics and steroids. He is extremely congested, running a high fever, having difficulty breathing, and acting quite lethargic and unhappy. We are going in for a chest xray and another appointment in the morning.
Hopefully a good night's rest will give him a little boost.
*On a side note, I was so bummed that we had to cancel our speech therapy appointment today, because I was very excited to show off all his progress! He is now trying to say "more." So, so, so, so, so cute!!! How amazing is he??? :)

Precious Maxwell,
My heart breaks that you are once again on antibiotics and steroids:-( I hope that both you and Mommy were able to get a good night's sleep last night.
I love you so, so much!

Dear Max,
I hope your bug goes away soon. I know you're tired and don't feel well. You are in the best care you could possibly have: Your mom's. I will keep you in my prayers as I go about my day. Get better little buddy. Rest up.
Kisses,
Shannon
I am not sure iof this is consolation or not, but the ups and downs of back-to-back upper respoiratory infections are so similar to what Keith endured for the first three years of his life. Somewhere after he was four there were long breaks between illnesses, and since he was nine, he has been the healthiest one in our family~! Some years he doesn't even catch a cold! I hope Max feels better soon and you both have a lovely night's sleep and a day full of laughter and discovery.
