spontaneous communication? maybe....

I need to write this down before I forget it...curious what the next few weeks will bring.

1) The other day Max signed "cry" when I went into the bathroom and checked up on him. He has never, ever commented on any emotion before...and I still don't know if that is really what he was signing. But hmmm....

2) Yesterday he was being pretty fussy at the dinner table and signed (by spelling) "sad." I was stunned....and so was Z. So we quickly got the ipad to see if he would choose "I feel sad." But nope, he chose "happy" but by then, he did seem a little happy. Weird...not sure.

3) Today at lunch Max spelled "red"...and sure enough, he did have a red plate in front of him.

What is difficult is that not in any of these circumstances did he appear to be signing TO me...it was more just him randomly moving his fingers and I caught on that something seemed more purposeful than usual.

Curious if more of these happen...fingers crossed with great hope! :)
