4th of July celebration

Our neighborhood had a fun party to celebrate the 4th of July...such a great time!

Since we were celebrating the independence of our nation, Maxwell decided he should play up his independence too. Despite not feeling great, he was so good about getting involved with the various games.

While we were watching the watermelon seed spitting contest, I realized why not have Max participate in a different way. He doesn't yet know how to spit but he can throw. So we brought him to the line and showed him where to throw it. Once he realized the objective, he simply walked forward and placed the seed where it should go. It was awesome!

Later the group started a tug of war battle. Max thought it was just hilarious and joined in all by himself...even before I was participating! We were all cheering for him and his determination to be independent and have a great time.

One of the neighborhood kiddos afterwards was complimenting Max for helping out the team. He said "Did you see Mighty Max helping? He was really great and mighty...that's why everyone calls him Mighty Max!"

We are blessed to have such a supportive neighborhood. Thanks everyone!
