exciting news update from mighty max!

McKinley for Congress!
My grandpa (known as "Papa" in our family), David McKinley, has announced his candidacy for the 1st Congressional District of West Virginia. We are absolutely thrilled about his decision and know he will make a positive difference for WV and our nation.

He is extremely passionate about the state and has a long history of leadership and service in our community. Additionally, he has grown a one-man business into one of the largest architectural and engineering firms in the state. He knows how to get things done!

Way to go Grandpa!
(Now what can we do about services for individuals with developmental disabilities...any ideas? Ok, I will wait until you are elected and then Mom and I will start our lobbying effort.)

Right on, Papa! :-)

Amy, I just caught up a bit... and saw all the lab work that had to be done prior to surgery... but missed (maybe I went too fast?) what surgery Max is having?

Your "normal" post pulled at me... hard. We've had some moments that occurred over the holidays that I am still processing. The same kinds of things, but Gracie was with me and things were said by children whose parents had no clue how to handle the situation. Not the first time, of course, but so many times in a short period which left me a bit blue (and almost thankful that she couldn't hear them).
Anyway, different scenarios, but same effect on the heart. I think you handled it beautifully... and I think that you wrote about it so well, too. Thank you for your honesty and vulnerability.

Oh... and how is your back?

Good Luck to your Papa and I joined his facebook page yesterday. I know if he is in your family he will do great.
Hugs,
Crystal and Eva

He'd have my vote just for being a relative of Max! I wish him the best of luck. It sounds like he can really make a difference.
