more bathtime conversations!

Max and I have a lot of fun at bathtime...including lots of good conversations!

He absolutely LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to sign the alphabet and we do it ALL the time...during bathtime, mealtime, playtime, anytime. I just cannot get enough of seeing him move his sweet lil' fingers in all the different positions!

Check out how silly he is with his "M" and "N" signs. For those of you familiar with ASL, you know that those two letters are signed very similarly. So Max has taken that up a notch and apparently thinks it is quite funny to sign it about 10 times. You'll see what I mean..it always cracks me up!

Oh, and seriously how smart is he about the clapping? Because of his lack of balance, he always keeps a hand on the side of the bathtub. However, after he signs the alphabet, he likes to congratulate himself with a round of applause (we are BIG into encouragement around here!). What a dilemma! No problem for Mighty Max. He solves the problem by simply keeping his grip on the bathtub and clapping the "free" hand on top of the other. I just think that is brilliant problem solving!

Enjoy!

(And in the second video, yep...that is Max using his name sign! It's actually the "M" sign strongly coming away from his chest symbolizing "MIGHTY MAX." But sometimes he does it a little differently...that's ok. It's his name and he can do it anyway he wants to, right?)

Amy and Max, you just made our day! Honestly, Max, my heart swells with pride for you like it does when my own daughter works so hard to accomplish something.
What a joyful sight to watch you shine as you signed and said your alphabet! Vivian and I thank you for this dose of joy. I love that bath time is such a special communicative time for you two.
