what a night

Wow, I forgot how terribly sick Max can be...until last night.

He vomited violently for several hours in the evening and then continued on with whimpering, extreme discomfort and more vomiting until morning. It was intense...to say the least. The additional issue is preventing any aspiration from the vomiting. That makes the situation a little more complicated/frustrating. Poor guy...he was absolutely miserable. It was heartbreaking.

FORTUNATELY, he seemed much better by mid-morning. He definitely is not feeling great, but nowhere close to the extreme of last night. Hmmm...I am hoping, hoping, hoping tonight is peaceful.

On a side note, Max has adopted two comfort measures. He has found a blanket that he LOVES (will literally crawl around the house in search of it!) and he is obsessed with my hair. Last night his #1 comfort was he would stroke a few strands of my hair over and over again. I admit it's a little annoying at 3 in the morning, BUT I would do just about anything to ease his pain and stress. In desperation last night, I actually thought about cutting some of my hair just to give to him! :)

Ok I am off to bed and hoping to catch some ZZZs...keeping my fingers crossed!

Amy, I am so sorry sweet Maxwell is sick. Please keep us updated.

I'm thinking that Maxwell would not want to play with your hair were it not attached to you. Hope that you were able to get some sleep.

Love,
Mary

Oh, poor guy! And poor mom. You must be totally exhausted.

We're thinking of you and hoping Max is feeling better soon.

P.S. Nora has become totally obsessed with her blanket too! It was the very first "baby" thing I bought with the gift certificate you gave me (way back when), so I think of it as the blanket the Max gave her!

poor Max and Mommy! being sick is the pits and throwing up is even deeper in the pits. i noticed max playing with your hair a week ago at church and thought it was too adorable.

Oh, Max. Hate to hear you've been feeling so bad. We passed a stomach bug through our house a few weeks ago, and it was rough enough on all of us without the added concern of aspiration. I sure hope you get to feeling better soon, little man. Hope mommy is taking care of herself, too!

BTW - Libby has a blanket that is practically in shreds now, after five years of heavy use, and every time she freaks out about not being able to find it, I remember woobie and the detour on our way to Orlando so many years ago ;-)

I haven't blogged regularly in about six months, and I'm very happy to see Max is still going strong!

Hope you guys are doing well.

poor max! I'm so sorry he was so sick. We had the flu at our house last week but Jack has the fundo and can't throw up. He was so miserable. As mothers we wish we could take it away and deal with it ourselves. If only we could...

I hope Max is feeling better now.
