extreme home makeover

Thanks everyone for your emails regarding tonight's Extreme Home Makeover show. I was notified earlier today about it so I made sure to tune in! :)

For those of you who missed it, the team was building a house for a family that runs a therapeutic horseback riding center, and one of the clients was a boy with CHARGE. This is similar to the therapy Max is receiving every week. Ok, he has yet to actually ride the horse, but we remain optimistic! Meanwhile we are working on a lot of vestibular and strength issues to better prepare him. The horse riding can be incredibly beneficial, so I am looking forward to Max actually doing it...someday! :)

It was strange watching the show. I couldn't help but think of how differently I would have viewed that show "pre Max."

* On another TV note, did anyone see Brothers & Sisters last week? A GOP presidential candidate stepped aside because there was some controversy about his family. He had a son with special needs but never acknowledged him in public (I think he was in an institution, but not really sure) and actually voted against laws that would have helped those with developmental disabilities.

Oh, I hit enter too soon, but I missed the EHMO show tonight DARN! We have never done the horse therapy, it's not good for scoliosis :(

Brothers & Sisters reminded me of a former GOP friend who I once supported! I am so ashamed that I ever contributed to him and asked my friends to support him. I don't usually misjudge people.

I watched last night and thought of you and Max, and thought "what a nice "plug" for CHARGE awareness from the dad." He did a great job in the 10 seconds that he got to explain why his son used Freedom Hills. When people ask me what CHARGE is (because I brag about Max almost (OK, not even almost) as much as you do) I usually just have to say "CHARGE is an acronym." And the light bulb goes off on just how many letters/challenges that is. Little bundles of inspiration, they are!

I watched it today on the internet as Eva took a nap. As soon as I saw the family I got excited it was like seeing a famous person or sometime. It was amazing and what an amazing family.
Hugs,
Crystal and Eva

I saw the EHM show and immediately thought of Max. What a lucky group of individuals who get to use this space that GOD blessed them with. It was a true tear jerker.
