very successful and fun DsO buddy walk!

What a wonderful, busy, happy weekend!

Our friends, Sarah and Evan (daddy was working...we missed you Jeremy!), joined us from across the state. We met them way back in the early days at Children's Hospital. A very loving minister at the hospital carefully connected us since Max and Evan both have the same syndrome. We have been great friends ever since, and our relationship has brought great comfort, insight and comfort to one another as we ride this roller coaster of special needs. We love you guys!

Our Saturday morning started bright and early with a 4 am wake up call from Maxwell. Thank you very much Max. This is becoming quite the pattern these days. He has been having O2 issues once again and not sleeping very well. (He really unnerved me that night by dropping his sats down to the 60s! Geez Max!)

Then we all headed to the Buddy Walk, an event sponsored by Down syndrome Outreach (DsO). Our good friend Kristy (Dylan's mommy) was heading this event and we wanted to support her efforts! It was a WONDERFUL event! Congratulations to Kristy and everyone involved!!! :)

Sarah and I joked that we were the "CHARGE contigency"...and sure enough we did get plenty of attention. But with our super cute kiddos, can you blame us? :)

But seriously...it was quite funny. Max was the only kiddo using a walker and man does he get attention with it. We got there a little late because of the taping, so we were just going to watch. But sure enough, Max jumped right in and started walking with the crowd...so of course we joined in too. He definitely made his presence known. Then when we were done with the walk, we were crossing the finish line and the announcer comes over and starts bragging about "Mighty Max is here, Mighty Max walked the entire race, give a round of applause to Mighty Max!"

You get the picture...I am all about attention for Maxwell, but even I was overwhelmed. He must have had his picture taken by at least 30 people...seriously. This lil' dude is quite the celebrity these days.

"C'mon, let's check it all out Mommy."

"We just keeping walking and walking and walking..."

"And here come my friends Mommy...take their photo please! We love you Sarah and Evan!"

"Wow, check out this celebration! Everyone was so excited for me to cross the finish line!"

"Eeks Mommy! What in the world is this big bug?"

(Check out the "paparazzi" taking more photos of me!)

"What a walk Mommy. Here I come looking for love."

"Whoa there lady...how'd you get so tall?"

"Too many growth hormones? Maybe you need a new endocrinologist?"

"Definitely time for nappy nap time...good night."
