phone calls, phone calls and MORE phone calls

I have been on the phone about 24/7 the last two days with all the various nurses, doctors and schedulers at Children's. We still don't have any answers, so I am anxiously waiting for our next phone call.

Yesterday the doctor ordered an emergency EKG for Maxwell. The results didn't show much difference from before, which is good news. However, the cardiologist is concerned that we might be dealing with pulmonary hypertension due to the "low sats and brady combo" and that wouldn't be good. So he would like to schedule an ECHO prior to any surgery. If that shows any change, the surgery would definitely be cancelled and they would do further tests (i.e. catheter) on Max's heart.

The anesthesia team hasn't made any decision yet if they feel comfortable. I am waiting another 15 minutes to nudge them again (gently of course).

For now, here are some super cute photos of Mr. Max during his EKG. Seriously, how many kiddos could look this cute and sweet having this test? He definitely was getting a kick out of my dancing, singing and silly faces! (So was the technician!)

charge syndrome

CHARGE syndrome is a recognizable (genetic) pattern of birth defects which occurs in about one in every 9-10,000 births worldwide. It is an extremely complex syndrome, involving extensive medical and physical difficulties that differ from child to child.
