What a fun afternoon adventure! This weekend we headed out to a local farm and enjoyed picking strawberries. We did this once last year and I was really looking forward to it again! And raspberry season starts this weekend...yummy!
At first, Max stayed in his stroller while we picked our berries, but then I thought hmm...this could be a great sensory experience for him. I wasn't too sure how he would tolerate the dirt and plants. He was hesitant, but then we played with the strawberries and the big bucket. (We have been working on filling and emptying just about anything.) Soon enough, he was pretty much making jam with my gorgeous, freshly picked berries! And he even let me feed him a tiny bite or two.

Look at these berries...yummy yummy!

Mommy showed me how fun it was to take the berries in and out of the bucket. She was right!

Now I am perfecting the skill of taking them ALL out of the bucket and having a grand ol' time!

Here you go Mommy.

No really, these are for you! Enjoy! Oh and don't mind the delicious dirt sauce on them, that's what makes it extra special.

Max! I'm blown away!
First to be playing with the strawberries...all those juices, seeds, and fruit textures on your cute little fingers!
Second, to be sitting in the field with the dirt on your legs and hands (I know how fond you are of grass so I'm sure dirt is up there too).
But then to EAT a few bites?!? Holy cow! Absolutely Amazing!
Congratulations Amy and Max. What a HUGE Day.

One more thing...what you did at playgroup today too (snack time) was pretty darn cool too.
Happy 4th!

WAY TO GO MAX !!! Glad you got in the dirt, strawberry patch and even helped with the bucket and strawberries. I would love a taste of those "strawberry fingers".

WOW that looks like so much fun!! Last year we took Eva apple picking, I think we need to find a strawberry farm Mr. Max.
Great job with the dirt and strawberries and maybe you and mommy can start your own jam business you can put on the label "Made with Mighty Max's own 2 hands" :)
Can't wait to see you in a few weeks!!!
Hugs,
Crystal and Eva
what did you do at snack time today? Max are you mashing the berries to make them ready for mommy to make strawberry smoothies, and strawberry sorbets or strawberry syrup for icecream or frozen yogurt? Great Job kiddo!!
Oh Max! What a big day! You make me (and Tommy) want to eat one of those juicy berries! GREAT NEWS!
