prednisone, antibiotics...again?

Yep, the past few days have been difficult on Mr. Max's body. While this bug hasn't stopped Max from playing and having fun, it has definitely impacted his lungs. He has been getting "junkier" every day. We have been giving the breathing treatments every four hours and lots of CPT (clapping of the chest and back to loosen the congestion). The nights are the worse...he wakes up in major coughing fits and his O2 needs have increased significantly. And unfortunately all the coughing leads to vomiting.

So today the doctor put him on another 10 days of antibiotics and prednisone (steroid that makes him a bit manic...funny videos to come I'm sure!).

Last night I requested a night nurse (she was able to come, yay!) because I knew the night would be rough (and it was) but no nurse tonight. But I can handle one night of no sleep...no worries. Mommy love is the best remedy for feeling yucky anyway!

Anyway, hopefully the medication will kick in quickly and this bug will be kicked to the curb. Meanwhile, here are some super cute photos of Max in the doctor's office. We had 45 minutes waiting time...but no worries. We were just happy to get an appointment right away!

Here Mommy, I'll share my keys with you. They are super fun!

I'm SOOOOO big!

PEEK A BOO! This is one of our very favorite games. Mom makes me use my voice for her to "find" me. (Our speech therapist says I need to work on using my voice on command versus just whenever.)

Again Mom?

Ok, time for a photo shoot with Mommy! You know how I love the camera...and I just love the mirror at the doctor's office.

oh Max,

I'm so sorry you're sick. You sure don't look it from your pics but we'll take Mommy's word for it. Sometimes I wonder who it's harder on when you little CHARGErs are sick. You guys cough, gag throw up and then give a sweet smile. While us mommys worry, worry, worry and don't sleep!! We used to sing," I puck my guts out, but i get up again, you're never gonna keep me down" for that "I get knocked down" song to Pey.Ha! You guys are just little energizer bunnies that, unfortunately, don't know any different!! Hope this goes away soon......we'll pray that it does.

Love from MO,
Corrie
