the many uses of an oximeter...

Remember how I posted about Maxwell having difficulty falling asleep?

Well, we may have lessened that problem a bit...and added yet another adorable "quirk" to Max's list.

He loves the lights on his kangaroo (feeding) pump and his oximeter (O2 sats and heart rate monitor) so much that one of the nurses turned the machines toward him recently and it quickly settled him down. So now we have been doing that for naps and at night and it is working! Yes, oddly enough my lil' man falls asleep to the lights of medical machines...not with a stuffed animal or toy. Too funny, isn't it?

This lil' boy amazes and humors me more and more every day! :)

When my 28 weeker son came home on the heart/apnea monitor, I remember being soothed by watching the blinks at night (he slept in our room - first in a laundry basket, later in a pack-n-play for 10 months). Max probably finds it entertaining, then drifts off. So cute!!!

He is probably so used to them, they are such a part of his life, that they are a comfort for him...sort of like a favorite blankie! How cute is he!

It's funny what they find comforting, isn't it? For Libby, it's a stinky ol' blankie...I pity the fool who washes it. She does NOT like that. Bet you wish you'd figured out Max's little naptime secret months ago, huh mom? Think of all the lost zzzz's.

Glad its working! If he likes lights then maybe he would like a glow worm too. :)

What wonderful pictures..... I can't believe how big Max is getting, and how handsome...... I'm glad to hear that Max is getting some much needed sleep..who would have thought the lights could be soothing to Max.

Love you,
Anara
