Hey everyone. Here I am at occupational therapy and mommy is excited to show Eileen (my therapist) my interest in "finger foods."
Mom has been encouraging me to play around with these little puffs (Graduates Finger Foods). VERY FUN! :)Sometimes I will feed Mom but then I like to take it back by sticking my entire hand in her mouth!
You want me to do what? Oh yes, put them in my mouth...but Mommy, they are so fun to just play with too!
YAY! YAY! YAY! I did it! I took a puff to my mouth and actually chewed it a bit. And I did it all by myself! WOO HOO!!! This is so huge!!! :)
(Surprised Mommy was able to get a photo because she was sooooo excited! Eileen was pretty thrilled too!)
We are really working on my feeding...and as you can see, we are making lots of progress! While we have a long road ahead, it's all so exciting! My current task at hand is to learn how to deal with thicker, lumpy or solid foods. (Currently I just spit the chunks out...I have no idea what to do with them.) My therapist also wants me to work on learning to feed myself...or at least show interest.
Yep...very, very, very exciting! Even though we have been making this a priority, we are still absolutely amazed with how well I am doing! We didn't know if I would ever be able to eat orally...and now look at me. It's truly beyond words, but perhaps this sums it up...WOW! WOW! WOW! :)

way to go max..all the different food textures in your mouth..when you get this eating thing mastered you and mommy are gonna have a blast dining. you may be momma's little chef in the kitchen with all your creations.
